Applied Research Project: “Designing a Comprehensive Therapeutic Nutrition Plan for a Specific Clinical Case”

- Project Description:
The project aims to develop a comprehensive clinical nutrition plan for a specific clinical case (real or simulated). The trainee will analyze the patient’s health status, review relevant vital signs and laboratory tests, and then design a therapeutic nutrition program aligned with international clinical nutrition protocols, taking into account the individual patient’s needs and ensuring integration with the overall medical treatment plan
- Project Objectives:
- Train the trainee to apply Clinical Nutritional Assessment tools.
- Enhance the ability to analyze clinical cases and link them to nutritional requirements.
- Design an individualized, evidence-based therapeutic nutrition plan.
- Develop skills in drafting practical and applicable nutrition programs.
- Link the therapeutic nutrition plan to clear monitoring and evaluation indicators.
- Trainee Tasks:
- Select a specific clinical case (real or simulated) to apply the project on.
- Collect and analyze relevant medical data (medical history – vital signs – laboratory tests).
- Conduct a comprehensive clinical nutritional assessment to determine the patient’s nutritional status.
- Develop an individualized therapeutic nutrition plan integrated with the medical treatment plan.
- Design Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor the patient’s response and progress.
- Prepare a comprehensive written document along with a presentation summarizing the results and the proposed therapeutic nutrition plan.
- Supervision and Guidance Approach:
- Academic supervision sessions (10 hours) distributed across project phases (assessment – design – review).
- Individual or group follow-up to provide scientific feedback and practical guidance.
- Advisory support in selecting appropriate tools and methodologies for nutritional assessment.
- Final review to ensure the plan complies with scientific and ethical standards in clinical nutrition.
