Applied Research Project: “Applied Model for an Integrated Digital Healthcare System in a Medical Institution”
- Training Hours: (10) hours Supervised and Evaluated
- Project Description:
This project aims to train the trainee on designing an applied model for an integrated digital healthcare system within a medical institution (hospital – health center – specialized clinic). The project involves developing a practical plan or system combining electronic medical record management, telemedicine applications, and data analytics tools, in compliance with privacy and cybersecurity standards. It focuses on transforming theoretical concepts into practical applications that improve patient experience and operational efficiency.
- Project Objectives:
- Apply the knowledge and skills acquired in digital health in a real-world scenario.
- Train the trainee to analyze the digital needs of a medical institution.
- Develop a practical model of a digital healthcare system that integrates medical and technical services.
- Enhance skills in using artificial intelligence and data analytics to support healthcare decision-making.
- Link digital solutions to performance indicators and healthcare service quality.
- Trainee Tasks:
- Select a real or simulated medical institution as the project model.
- Collect and analyze data on digital healthcare requirements.
- Design system components (EMRs – Telemedicine – Data Analytics – Smart Applications).
- Develop an information security plan aligned with HIPAA and GDPR standards.
- Prepare a comprehensive operational plan including timelines and required resources.
- Design a KPI matrix to assess system effectiveness.
- Prepare a written document and professional presentation demonstrating the proposed model.
- Supervision and Guidance Approach:
- Academic supervision sessions (10 hours) distributed over the project stages (analysis – design – final review).
- Individual/group follow-up to provide feedback and guidance.
- Advisory support in selecting appropriate digital tools and platforms.
- Final review to ensure compliance with global digital healthcare standards.
- Project Deliverables:
- Written document (10–15 pages) presenting the integrated digital healthcare system plan/model.
- System architecture diagram illustrating components and interoperability.
- Prototype or digital simulation of one component of the system.
- KPI matrix to measure application effectiveness.
